Perfect Day at CocoCay Review

There is something for everyone at Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay. CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s private Bahamian island.

The Thrill side

   - 13 Waterslides including North America’s tallest waterslide

The Chill side

The thrill side had me at hello! I am a sucker for a good waterpark and the slides were awesome. If you are a lounger then definitely hit up the chill side with plenty of options by the pool or the beach.

The island was not crowded because there was only 1 ship at the dock. This will definitely change if there are 2 ships in port at the same time. That could be as many as 10,000 people there at one time. That would definitely change the experience as there would not be enough lounge chairs to go around. This would definitely be the time to purchase a cabana on the island to have a guaranteed space for you and your family/friends.

I can also foresee long food lines when 2 ships are in port because there are only a handful of options available without going back on the ship. The food on the island was pretty good. The burgers were definitely better on the island than on the ship. They had burger shops but also a large buffet restaurant for lunch/dinner that was included at no additional cost. If you have a drink package then you will be pleased to know that it works on the island as well.

December 2019, they opened the over the water cabanas and I know those are going to be a hot commodity so if you are interested book now.
